Hanover Displays will release significant updates to Hanover Cloud over the coming months.
Hanover Cloud is Hanover’s web-based platform for managing passenger information fleets remotely. The update brings new features and improved performance for operators in the UK and internationally.
Hanover Cloud allows bus operators to manage their entire Hanover passenger information system from any internet-connected device. This includes updating destinations, checking equipment status, and tracking vehicle locations, all without installing software or visiting depots to carry out manual updates.
The update builds on a platform that replaces a suite of legacy Windows desktop applications including HELEN, Hanover Central, and Wireless Data Manager all through one central system. Existing files and workflows remain compatible, so operators can move across without disrupting day-to-day operations.
What’s new?
Health Status Dashboard – A clear, single-screen overview of fleet health. Icons show how many vehicles are affected by an issue, with one-click filtering to see details.
Regenerate Displays – A faster way to update destination displays. Formatting, colours, and layouts can be copied from one display and applied across the full destination list in a few clicks.
Many-to-many publishing – Previously, one file could be sent to multiple vehicles at a time. Operators can now select several files and send them to multiple vehicles in a single transfer, saving time when making several updates at once.
“Hanover Cloud gives operators something they have never had before, a complete, live picture of their passenger information estate from one screen. This latest release makes the platform faster and more capable, and we are continuing to develop it rapidly in response to what our customers tell us they need.” Chris Wrench, Product Manager, Hanover Displays
Hanover Cloud is made up of six connected applications covering destination management, file transfers, equipment monitoring, vehicle tracking, fleet administration, and user access.
The Transfers application has drawn strong interest from operators. It allows destination files and firmware updates to be sent to individual vehicles, groups, or entire fleets over the internet, removing the need for manual USB updates. The Health application gives depot managers and engineers real-time visibility of connectivity and firmware status across the fleet from a single screen.
Hanover Cloud works with all Hanover Ethernet-equipped display products, including the DG3, EG3 RS, EG4, Smart TFT, and HTC systems. It is available on subscription across three tiers, Essential, Standard, and Advanced with pricing based on fleet size.
The platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure in UK data centres. Hanover Displays holds ISO 27001 certification for information security management.
